Laus Engineering’s founder, Francesco Laus, is a highly accomplished Tyre Simulation and Performance Engineer with extensive experience in Formula 1. From 2016 to early 2024, he played a key role in Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology’s success, contributing to the Team’s dominance during one of the most successful periods in its history.
As Senior Tyre Simulation Engineer, Francesco led the Tyre Simulation and Performance Group, advancing the Team’s understanding of tyres and enhancing both on track performance and simulation capabilities.

Dominance defined
These contributions were instrumental in Red Bull Racing winning 70 races, 2 World Constructors’ Championships and Max Verstappen winning 3 World Drivers’ Championships in Francesco’s time with the Team. Francesco was also central to the development of the RB19, widely regarded as one of the most dominant cars in F1 history.
A collaborative force
Known for his collaborative approach, Francesco worked closely with key departments, including Aerodynamics, Suspensions, DIL simulators, Controls, Electronics, R&D, Strategy and Race Engineering; he liaised with drivers and key stakeholders, constantly pushing the limits of tyre performance.

Lifelong passion
With a Mechanical Engineering degree from Politecnico di Milano, Francesco combines technical excellence with a lifelong passion for motorsport, having been involved in racing from a young age.
Now, as he embarks on the next chapter with Laus Engineering, Francesco is set to apply his vast Formula 1 experience to new challenges within the motorsport and automotive industries.
